Georgia Thornton Huff

Georgia Thornton Huff, age 92, of Chestnut Hill, TN, passed away Thursday morning, May 22, 2003 at her home. A beloved mother and grandmother, she was born Nov. 27, 1910 and was a life long resident of Jefferson County. Member of the Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Claymon Huff; father and mother, James and Malita (lyte) Lewis Thornton; sister, Naomi Thornton Rainwater; brothers, Lester "Rab" Thornton and Barnett Thornton. She is survived by her children, Bobby Thornton and wife, Carol of Bluthville, AR; Joan Patrick of Knoxville, Gordon Thornton of Newport, Guy Huff and wife, Norma of Dandridge; sister, Johnnie Ellis of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren' 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Goldie Thornton and Edith Russell. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Dandridge Chapel with Rev. J. Ronald Gough and Rev. John Clark officiating. Interment graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
