GEORGE HARRY "RED" LOWE, age 83, of Dandridge, TN passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Johnson City, TN. He was a member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Piney Baptist Church, a World War II veteran serving in the US Army, member of the French Broad Lodge #588 and Scottish Rites Knoxville, TN, and a retired truck driver of Tom Foods. Preceded in death by father, George Lowe; mother, Geneva Lowe Burchfield; brother, Bill Lowe; son-in-law, Steve Gibbs; first wife and mother of his children, Betty Thomas Lowe. He is survived by wife, Edna Faye Lowe; daughters, Barbara Gibbs, Fran (Bob) Bryant; sons, Kenny Lowe, Jerry (Patty) Lowe; step-daughter, Sandra (Steve) Roach; step-son, Alan (Susan) Reagan; grandchildren, Martin, Amanda, Jill (Jeff), Charlie (Lisa), Mary Katherine, Lake, Shelby and Padon; step-grandchildren, Derrick, Dustin, Amber, Alex, Jordan and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, Chase, Conner, Jeffery and Jake; step-great-grandson, Hayden. Services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Masonic service at 8:00 p.m., led by John Paschal. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Mike Lee and Rev. Ted Phillips officiating. Military graveside interment service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 with VFW Post #5266, at Pleasant Grove Piney Cemetery in New Market, with Rev. Oliver Wolfenbarger and Rev. Jeff McMurray officiating. Pallbearers will be Aaron McGinnis, Wendell Longmire, Jeff French, Jack Luttrell, Luke Green and Gary Monroe. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Palmeer, Sam Grindstaff, Tyler Haggerd and Sam Shackelford, Jr., and all of Tom Food drivers.
