He was a dedicated member of Beth Carr United Methodist Church, where he was active and served on various church committees through the years. He was a life-long farmer and retired employee of Magnavox (Jefferson City). He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who loved farming and working with his cattle. Preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Edna (May) Martin; parents, George Martin, Sr., and Myrtle Bible Martin; and infant sister. He is survived by his children, Ronnie and Linda Martin of White Pine, Ann and Mike Jones of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Robbie Martin of Talbott, Rusty Martin of White Pine, Corey and Anthony Jones of Oliver Springs; great grandchildren, Trent Martin, Layney Bible and Ramsey Martin; sister, Edna Pearl Martin Wood. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Beth Carr United Methodist Church with Rev. Darrell Chambers and grandsons, Corey Jones and Rusty Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Jarnigan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine.
