GEORGE "FRANKIE" EDMONDS

GEORGE “FRANKIE” EDMONDS, age 85 of Strawberry Plains, TN formerly of Dandridge went to be with his heavenly father on Monday afternoon, December 31, 2018. He was a long-time member of the Hills Union United Methodist Church where he served as lay leader and Sunday School Superintendent and was currently a member of the McCampbell’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Frankie was a retired lineman for TVA and was veteran of the U.S. Army and the Korean Conflict.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nancy (Hale) Edmonds; brothers, Melvin, Robert Jr. and Paul Edmonds; sister, Agnes Moody and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Edmonds; son, Jeff (Susan) Edmonds; daughter, Star (Johnny) Parton; grandchildren, Kristen, Brad (Susie) and Josh (Haley) Edmonds, Danica Strange (Chris) Douglas, Cimber Strange, Allison Whitson and husband Shawn and Matt (C.J.) Whitson; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Dorothy) and Billy Joe (Virginia) Edmonds; several special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, January 3, 2019, 7:00 pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. Interment graveside services with military honors will held Friday, 11:00am at Hills Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to services.
