George Robert Cline

George Robert Cline, long time dairy, beef, and tobacco farmer in Jefferson County, TN, met his parents in Heaven Saturday, May 13, 2023.  He grew up a member of First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City and later on became a member of New Market Baptist Church.  George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather “Papa”.  To know him was to love him.  He was a honest and kind man, who never met a stranger and would lovingly greet you with a smile, hug, and a joke.  He loved his family and would give anyone the shirt off his back.  If he was not farming, you would find him at the ball field either coaching or cheering on his children and grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his parents, J.V. Jr. and Eula Mae Forgety Cline; brothers in law, George Gray, Larry Brooks, Ed Thomas and Charles Henson.  He leaves behind his loving wife of over 52 years, Judy Thomas Cline; children, Gloria (Nick) Larrance, George Robert (Elizabeth) Cline II, Deborah (Brady) Saffell, James Edward Cline and Stacey Morgan, who was like a son; grandchildren, Beau, Nate and Drew Larrance, Madison and Garrett Cline, Heather, Kelsie, Lane and Faith Whited and Keylee Brock; step grandchildren, Aden, Ian and Tristen; mother in law, Louise Bozeman; sisters, Sue Gray, Jo (Bob) Myrick and Jane (David) Littleton; brothers, J.V. Cline III and Duane (Judy) Cline, sisters in law, Juanita Henson, Wanda (Harold) Denton and Diane Thomas; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Jefferson County FFA Alumni (2639 North Hwy 92 Jefferson City, TN 37760) and Tennessee Ag in the Classroom (P.O. Box 313 Columbia, TN 38402-0313).  The family will receive friends Thursday, May 18, 2023 at New Market Baptist Church 1:00 p.m until 3:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m.  A funeral service will follow with Reverend Brock Webster officiating.  Family and friends will gather at 12:00 p.m Friday, May 19, 2023 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City to proceed to Westview Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m graveside service with Dr. J.W. Taylor officiating.
