Gary Doon

GARY DOON, age 56 of Dandridge, TN passed away Thursday, FEb. 12, 2004. He was born June 23, 1947 in Berkeley, CA to Harry and Janet Gagnon Doon, a military family. gary excelled in tennis and golf as a youth and graduated from High School in Orinday, CA. After serving in the US Army, gary graduated from Antioch College. In the 1980's he moved to Nashville to pursue his career as a music business professional, working with some of the world;s most popular contemporary performers, including Dr. Hook, BJ Thomas, MC Hammer, Michael Jackson, janet Jackson, Madonna and Rodney Carington, among others. While in Nashville, he met his wife, "Nead" and they soon wed on the Brig o Doon n Scotland, while he was on tour with michael Jackson. In 1995, Gary and his family came to East TN and made their home on Douglas Lake in Dandridge. Gary bebefited from vast and unusual life experiences and shared them in many a fine tale. He had an unmatched optimism and a hearty laugh. To his many friends and his family, he was a great source of joy. He will be sorely missed. His survivors include his wife, nancy Doon; children, Hunter and Heather Doon; mother, Jeannette Goodrum; sister, Sherry Dunn; step sister, Candace Ewalt; step brother, Marr Goodrum. A memorial service and family sharing will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004 at 3 p.m. at the Clarion Inn, 1990 Winfield Dunn Pkwy (Hwy 66) Sevierville, TN.
