G. Reece Tallent, age 79 of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Mr. Tallent was an active member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. Reece was an avid photographer, having previously operated a photography shop in Jefferson City and he also enjoyed walking. He was the husband of the late Frances Tallent and a son of the late Jep and Anna Ray Tallent. Surviving is his son and daughter in law, Ron and Judy Tallent of Jefferson City; daughters and son in law, karen and Earl Howard of Jefferson City and Laura Tallent of Jefferson City; grandchildre, David Howard and wife Amy, aaron Howard, Teri Gaddy and husband Mel, Chris Tallent and wife Sam and Latasha Tallent; great grandchildren, Cullum and Meagan Howard and James and Sierra Gaddy. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Dampier officiating and eulogy by Mr. Lonas Tarr, with music provided by Louis and Mary Charlotte Ball. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2003 at the funeral Home to proceed to Westview Cemetery for a 10 a.m. interment service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 10088, Knoxville, TN 37939-9910.
