Fred L. Shults,

FRED L. SHULTS, SR., age 75, of New Market, TN passed away Friday evening, January 16, 2009. He was born in Cosby, TN, the son of the late Alfred and Etta Shults and was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Shults; infant son, Eddie Shults; grandson, Ben Bohanan; and sisters, Ola Frazier and Lela Shults. Fred was a faithful member of the McCampbell's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a dedicated caretaker of the McCampbell's Chapel Cemetery and was proud to have accomplished the reading of the Bible in its entirety nine times. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking and was retired from Shelby-Williams Co. of Morristown. He is survived by wife, Herma Shults of New Market; children, Fred (Pam) Shults, Jr. of New Market, Mike Chezek of Finland, Marc Chezek of Knoxville; Rosemary (Bob) Rierson of Knoxville, Ann (Milo) Bohanan and Jim (Ruby) Riddle, all of New Market; grandchildren, Ethan and McKenzie Shults, Gwen Boyer, Travis Sampson, Doreen Zimmer, Kellie Dickson, Tiffany Bright, Antonio, Henric and Sammy Chezek, Becky Brown, Kim Hicks, Melissa Martin, and Michael Riddle; twenty great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank (Minnie) Shults, Milburn (Joyce) Shults, Melvin "Red" (Ada) Shults; sister, Geneva (Mike) Murphy; special brother-in-law, Elmer Shults; special sister-in-law, Stella McCampbell. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Robert Brewer and Rev. Chuck Nicholson officiating. Interment graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCampbell's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service.
