FRED AUSTIN (PETE) FARMER, age 69 of Kodak, TN passed away Sunday, September 14, 2003 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was the son of the late E. O. (Ont) and Lillie douglas Farmer and was preceded in death by brohters, Jack and Jimmy Farmer. He was a member of the Kodak Methodist Church. Pete founded and operated the farmer Garage Door Service for over 30 years and was a licensed general contractor, having buile homes in Sevier, Jefferson and Knox counties. He loved to sind and play gospel music and did so for many years. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Diane Farmer of Kodak; son and daughter in law, Mike and Debbie Farmer of New Market; daughter and son in law, Angie and Gary Wayne Franklin of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Benjamin Austin Franklin (age 8) and Allyson Marie Franklin (age 6), both of Jefferson City; sister, Daisy (Tootle) Cates of Knoxville; mother in law, Lillian Davis of Sevierville; nd many special friends. Special thank you to Dr. Hanna and his staff and the nurses of the 6 east of the University of Tennessee Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to the Kodak United Methodist Church, 2923 Bryan Road, Kodak, TN 37764. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at the Kodak United Methodist Church with Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. Interment graveside services will be Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Henry's Crossroads Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
