OBITUARY:
FRED TINSLEY MILLS, age 91, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on Monday afternoon, October 18, 2004 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. He was a member of George Street Methodist Church and was retired from Appalachian Electric Cooperative with more than 50 years of service. Fred was the son of the late Floyd Mack and Stella Parrott Mills. Mr. Mills was a devoted husband, wonderful father and a friend to many. He had a wonderful memory and a vast knowledge of many things. Mr. Mills was a Renaissance Man. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Finchum Mills; brother, Eugene Mills; sister, Frances Mills Tallent. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William and Jill Mills of Morristown; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jay Franklin of New Market, Faye and Robert ?Dink? Miller of Blountville, Cathy and William White of Oneida, Mary Anne and Sam Lane of Williamson, GA; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Anna Rhea Finchum of Dandridge; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends; extended family, Tom and Faye White of Dandridge; special friends, Louise and Daryl Glandon. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2004 at Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Marvin Hayes and Reverend Ginger Howe officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2004 at the funeral home to proceed to Hillcrest Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to George Street United Methodist Church, 1340 George Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760 or to Hillcrest Cemetery, PO Box 798, Dandridge, TN 37725.
