He was a retired employee of Bush Brothers and enjoyed working as a carpenter and farmer. Preceded in death by wife, Ethel B. Derrick; brother, Palmer Derrick. He is survived by daughter, Debbie Derrick (Bob) Julian; sons, Chuck (Peggy) Layman and Danny (Tammy) Layman; grandsons, Jody and Chris (Denise) Layman; great grandchildren, Hannah and Natalie Layman; brothers, Claude, Lonnie and Tommy Derrick; sisters, Gladys Ruth Woods and Faye Derrick. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at Fox Cemetery in Sevier county with Rev. Jerry Colbert officiating.
