Franklin Rimmer, age 86 of White Pine,TN passed away Friday evening, June 4, 2010 at the Jefferson County Nursing Home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of White Pine and a World War II veteran. He was the son of the late Frank and Lily Rimmer. Preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Evelyn Lucille Rimmer; son, Dennis Rimmer; brothers, Cecil, Howard and Hugh Rimmer; sisters, Kathleen Hill and Louise Rimmer. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Faye Rimmer and daughter and son-in-law Anne and Charles Herndon; grandchildren, Mike Rimmer, Felisha McNabb (Ken), Tori Vick, Andrew Vick, and Emily Vick; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Rimmer, Lauren McNabb and Sarah McNabb; brother, Eugene "Wimp" Rimmer and sister Ona Pearl Denton; sister-in-law Helen Ottinger (Kyle); several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge their appreciation to all his friends and caretakers at the Jefferson County Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine with the Reverend Brian Osborne and Reverend Grant Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. prior to the service. There will be a military graveside on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Dandridge Memorial Gardens at 10:00 a.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Franklin's honor to the Jefferson County Nursing Home Scholarship Fund, 914 Industrial Park Road, Dandridge, TN 37725.
