Frankie Odom Moyers

Frankie Lea Moyers, 78, of White Pine, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024. Though a member of Thankful Baptist Church in Morristown, she found a home worshipping alongside her husband Eddie at Edwards Chapel Church. Frankie was a devoted teacher, having served almost 40 years at Alpha Elementary School in Hamblen County. She will be dearly missed by fellow teachers, Phyllis Brady and Carolyn McClane. She enjoyed collecting and selling Antiques with her husband in the White Pine community. Frankie also had a love of music playing the clarinet and piano. She participated in the 1961 Presidential Inauguration of John F. Kennedy in what was known as the “Best Band in the Land”. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Eddie Moyers, parents, Clifford Darrell and Mary Thelma Odom, and sister, Beatrice Elaine Odom. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Odom, nieces, Lisa Stalans and Gloria Fowler, nephews, J. D. Rines, Buster Rines and Rusty Odom, as well as several cousins, great nieces and nephews, and many friends and neighbors, Joe Jaynes. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at White Pine Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Lindsey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her name.
