FRANK G. WILLIAMS, age 84, of Dandridge, TN passed away on May 2, 2010. He was born on September 21, 1925 in Elko, NV, to Otto T. Sr. and Isabelle Williams. Frank is preceded in death by his parents; half-brother, F.Y. ?Yale?, Otto Jr. and brother, Robert F. Williams. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Betty (Maples) Williams; daughters, Paulette (Dwight) Maples of Gatlinburg, Marti Dotson of Dandridge; and son Guy Williams of New Orleans; grandchildren, Michelle McDonald, Lori (Ric) Mayfield, Aaron Maples and Jason Williams; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Harriet (Mrs. John) Uhalde of Reno, NV. During World War II Frank was in the US Merchant Marines, serving on seven ships in both the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters. For many years he was a construction estimator in Knoxville and was vice-president with Johnson & Galyon Inc. where he retired in 1995. He served a term as president of Knoxville Builders Exchange. Habitat for Humanity was a favorite of his and he acted as foreman on the first two houses built in Jefferson Co. He served a term as president at Habitat, and lately had been the chairman of the site selection committee. The Dandridge Senior Center has been a required stop, a place for a good cup of coffee and conversation, He served there for several years as treasurer. Funeral service will be on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 8:00pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Dandridge, where he has been an active member for years, with the Dr. Robert McCray and Dr. Robert Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm prior to the service. Also, friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be a private interment at the family?s request. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 346, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
