FRANK C. HODGE was in his 87th year when he passed away October 5, 2008 at his home in Dandridge, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jewell Holtsinger Hodge; parents, Frank M. and Hattie hodge; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Rubye Hodge; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Alma Holtsinger. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Jim Overholt; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Becky Hodge; granddaughter and husband, Laura and Josh Woodson; grandson, Brian Overholt; step-grandson, Nathan Moore; nephew and niece, Jerry and Sally Hodge; nieces and nephews, Mary Celeste and Bill Thurber, Cris and Bill Hatcher, Gina and Frank Busby; nieces, Vivian Carson and Carolyn Carson Cornelius; life long friend and neighbor, Dorothy Hankins; special friend, Jerri Jarnagan Pratt; and many, many other friends. Frank was a member of the Hopewell Presbyterian Church since 1946 and had been honored as elder emeritus. He attended the public schools of Jefferson County, was a graduate of Georgia Tech, and was a veteran of World war II, serving as officer in the submarine service in the Pacific. Frank was a Director of Appalachian Electric Cooperative for thirty years and served as its president for a number of years. He was an organizing director of First Peoples Bank, was active in many civic organizations, and was named Jefferson Countian of the Year in 2004. Frank donated his body to the UT Medical School in Memphis so that others might live. A memorial and celebration worship service will be held on October 18, 2008 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Dandridge. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. The family suggests that memorial contributions in honor of Frank be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 215, Dandridge, TN 37725 or to Smoky Mountain Health and Hospice, 222 Heritage Blvd., Newport, Tn 37725.
