Frances H. Watson

FRANCES H. WATSON, age 86, of Knoxville and formerly of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at St. Mary?s Medical Center. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Halls and formerly a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, where she taught Sunday School to college age women for several years. She was a homemaker and avid gardener to the point where people would stop to admire her flower garden. She would also find joy in giving her roses to her friends and those who were sick. She received her master?s degree in religious studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where she met her husband, Clarence H. Watson of 60 years. Preceded in death by her husband; her parents, M. P. and Susie Hairston; brother, Charles Hairston; sister, Jeanette Amason. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne and husband, Ronnie Wilson of Knoxville; as well as her grandson, Henry Todd Beach and fiancé, Alexandria Brown; her daughter, Melanie Honea and grandchildren, Brandon and Miranda of Ooltewah, near Chattanooga, TN; brother, Byron Hairston. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
