She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jefferson City. Preceded in death by husband, Frank Bass; son, Royce Bass; granddaughter, Debra Cate; parents, Mahlon and Mattie Gilliam Winstead; brothers, Sherman Winstead and Woodrow Winstead; sister, Pauline Winstead; ten step-brothers. She is survived by her children, Bill Bass of Florida and his companion, Marilyn Bass, Gerald Bass and wife, Edna of Morristown, Ronald Bass of Morristown, Sue Cate of Kingsport and special friend, Bill Barbee of New Market; nine grandchildren, Sandra Qahtani, David Cate, Keith Cate, Penny Kennedy, Danny Bass, Tambra Bass, Curtis Bass, Pam Boyd and Chris Bass; thirteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, April 17, 2008 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for 1:30 graveside interment service.
