She was one of the oldest members of Rocky Valley Baptist Church, being a member for 73 years. She was an avid reader and read her Bible every morning. She had read over 125 books last year. She also loved flowers and her cats. She was one of the original members of the Jefferson County Craft Association and enjoyed going to craft shows with her crocheted Christmas decorations. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Mack and Lena Johnson; her husband, Dale Gordon; and two infant sisters. Survived by daughter and "best friend", Pam Gordon; brother, sister-in-law and niece, Hal, Betty and LaDonna Johnson of Jefferson City; two special cousins who checked on her every day, Laura Calloway and Kathleen French; two special friends, Virginia Wolfenbarger and Thelma French; other cousins and relatives. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Dewayne Whittington officiating. Friends may call from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Piedmont Cemetery.
