Everett Melvin (Mel) Burrows

EVERETT MELVIN (MEL) BURROWS, age 86, of Talbott, Tn passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City, He bas born Sept. 21, 1919 in Shelby County, IL to George and Nellie Mae Burrows. He received Jesus as his Savior at an early age and was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Jefferson City. He was a veteran of World War II, having served six years in the States and the Pacific Theatre. He retired from BluE Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois after 34 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers, a sister, a sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law. Survived by his wife, Lylith Burrows; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Michael Jones of New Market, TN; grandson, Cory Jones of ETSU, Johnson City, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Merlin and Nancy Burrows of Salome, AZ; sisters, Evelyn Beard and Margaret Sallee of Decatur, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Lewis Hutchison of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Joe and Terry Colosimo of Scottsdale, AZ ; goddaughters, Erin Colosimo of Scottsdale, AZ and Kelly Colosimo of Coronado, CA. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 from Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Cross and Pastor Mark Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the funeral service. The body will be shipped to Patterson Funeral Home in Elmwood, Illinois for interment service at Brimfield Cemetery in Brimfield, Illinois. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 860 East Highway 11E, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
