EVERETT A. MANNING, age 74, of Dandridge, TN passed away at his home on August 19, 2008 after a courageous fight against cancer. He was a dedicated member of Mountain View Baptist Church, where he served the Lord in many positions. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Roadway Express in 1999 after 28½ years of safe driving. Preceded in death by father and mother, W. A. and Hazel Manning; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Georgie Manning. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Mary E. Cotter Manning; daughter, Christine (J.L.) Swann; son, David (Shelly) Manning; sister, Mary W. (Leonard) Collins; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Seale; grandchildren, Robbie (Caci) Silver, Jason Manning, Travis Manning, Melissah (Bob) Weinier, Jennifer (Barry) Smith, Shannon (Michael) Anderson and Jess (Sherry) Cline; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Hannah, Kaylea, Micah, Jessie, Kendall, Mikenna; special family, Bob and Pam Cotter and family, and Mary Ann, T. Z. and Taliyah Green; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, August 22, 2008 at Mountain View Baptist Church with Reverend Robby Drinnon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning, August 23, 2008 at Mountain View Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
