Everett L. Gantte

EVERETT L. GANTTE, age 69 of Dandridge, TN passed away Monday evening, July 12, 2004 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Everett was a retired prominent businessman of Dandridge, where he also served the town as mayor of Dandridge for several terms. He was a real estate broker and insurance agent, having operated the Gantte Real Estate for a number of years. In his early years, he was a member of the French Broad Church of the Brethren, where he served and worked within the church in various positions and was a veteran of the US Navy. He presently was a member of the French Broad Baptist Church. Survived by wife, Loretta Gantte of Dandridge; sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Anita Gantte of Maryville, and Dr. Stephen and Deanna Gantte of Dandridge; step son, David Hughes; three grandsons; former wife of 35 years and the mother of his children, Beverly Gantte; sister, Mildred Rodeffer; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Gantte, all of Dandridge. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel. Graveside interment services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the French Broad Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at he funeral home.
