She grew up in the Chestnut Hill community in East Tennessee and spent her married life in Chattanooga, TN, later raising her children in Blytheville and North Little Rock, Arkansas. She retired after her nursing career and settled in Little Rock, where she died in Baptist Hospital on October 24, 2005. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Tammy Gene Sliger; her former husband, Dr. Eugene B. Sliger; and her parents, Alger and Eula Bush of Chestnut Hill, Tennessee. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Kaye Sliger Lamb and partner, William McKee; daughter, Tina Diane Sliger Hamm and husband, Noel M. Hamm, and their two children, Lauren Nicole and Piper Elizabeth. She is also survived by her chosen son, Jeffery Williams of Little Rock, a faithful friend and valued addition to the family for more than 15 years. His humor and friendship, traits he inherited from our mother, have entertained and inspired us all. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Bush Workman and husband, Dr. Wayne Workman of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Graveside services were held Thursday, October 27, 2005 in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery with Reverend Mary Parson officiating. A celebration of her life will be held in Little Rock in Arkansas in November. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Arkansas Aids Foundation, 518 East 9th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202.
