Evelyn Long

Evelyn Long, age 79, of Dandridge, peacefully entered Heaven on Friday, April 18, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

A lifelong native of Jefferson County, she was born March 21, 1946 to Alfred and Pauline Dukes. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, Mimi, and friend. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and niece Jennifer Dukes Fuson. She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank Long; brothers, Michael Dukes & Gary Dukes; children, Christopher (Melanie) Long, Julie (Curt) Hansen, and Chad (Ragan) Long; and her cherished grandchildren: Kaden, Laurelyn, Natalie, & Gracie Long, and Nicholas Hansen.

Evelyn dedicated many years of service to the Jefferson County School system where she was known for her kindness, patience, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she had a passion for thrifting, dancing, cooking, being a prolific reader, and - most of all - spending time with her family and friends. Her home was often filled with the sounds of laughter & music, and the comforting smells of her homemade meals. Evelyn will be remembered for her generous heart, vibrant spirit, and unwavering love for those around her. 

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge with eulogies given by Natalie Long and Chad Long. Family will receive friends from noon to 2PM prior to the service; and burial will follow at Hills Union Cemetery.
