Evelyn Joy Lee Crockett

Evelyn Joy Lee Crockett, age 87 of Dandridge, Tn formerly of Knoxville, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, C. Huber Crockett, Sr.; parents, Senia and Samuel Harold Lee; sisters, Velma Huling and Gertrude Mayfield; brother, James Harold Lee. She was a member of the First United Methodist church of Dandridge, past president of the United Methodist Women, PTA Lfie Member, Martha Dandridge Garden Club and Dandridge Senior Citizens. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star and served as Past matron and for many years, as organist. She was retired from the Knoxville City Schools as a school secretary to Mr. Wright H. frost, Mr. Robert (Bob) Matthews, and Mr. Frank Bowden. She also held the position of assistant manager/bookkeeper for the Knoxville Teachers Credit Union before retirement. She is survived by her son, C. H. Crockett, Jr. of Holder, FL; special family friend, Mrs. Marilyn Seymour, Beverly Hills, FL; sister, Mrs. Dorthea Lee Merrell, Knoxville; brother, L. Dewey Lee, Sr. and wife Polly of Knoxville; brother in law, John T. Crockett, Sr. of Knoxville; sister in law, Ruth Broome of Knoxville; grandchildren, Michael Crockett and wife, Patricia, Cleveland, TN, Terri Mullins and husband J. Fred, III of McDonald, TN, Catherine Humphrey and husband, Richard of Louisville, KY; great grandchildren, Sarah Beth and Caylor Michael Crockett, and Mary Frances Humphrey; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Dandridge First Methodist Church, P. O. Box 8, Dandridge, TN 37725. A celebration of the life of Evelyn Crockett will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Dandridge, TN with Rev. Dan Moore officiating.
