Evelyn Fox Coleman Snapp, (Billie) age 81, of White Pine, TN, born July 6, 1931 in Point Pleasant, Cocke County, Tennessee died on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Everett Snapp; her parents, William Earl Fox and Emma Phillips; step-father, Fred R. Luster; brother James Earl Fox; step-daughter, Denise Snapp Finchum; step-son, Everett Maurice Snapp; step-granddaughter, Alicia Ann Finchum; son-in law, John Gordon Osborne, and special god-son Melvin James Merrill. She is survived by her children: Linda Coleman Osborne, Donna Marie Coleman, Richard Snapp and his wife Ginger, Debra Snapp Kerr and her husband Johnny Kerr, Dennis L. Snapp, and Dale W. Snapp; step-son Barry Snapp and wife June; and sisters, Irma Jean Konzen, Geneva and husband Steve Jadrnak, and Alice Jarnigan Penn and husband John. She has 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; 4 step grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Evelyn celebrated five generations of females in the family. Evelyn was previously employed by White Pine School and Allen-Baker Clinic before opening her own business, Evelyn?s (a clothing store) in White Pine. She was a song leader, Sunday school teacher and active member of the White Pine Free Will Baptist Church. She started singing in local churches as a soloist and with her daughters when they were young, and later established the Gateway Quartet who sang in many local churches over the years. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Freewill Baptist Church in White Pine with the funeral to follow with grandson Rev. Brian G. Osborne officiating, and Rev. Dennis Daugherty assisting. Burial services will be held at Lawson?s Chapel United Methodist Church on Indian Creek Road in Jefferson County, Tennessee at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Free Will Baptist Children?s home, foreign missions, or the Lawson?s Chapel Cemetery Fund.
