EVELYN MARION MANLY STOOKSBURY FOSTER, of Jefferson City, TN, who was born June 16, 1917 in Statesville, NC to parents, Arthur and Ocie Greene, passed away on January 7, 2021 at the age of 103. She is preceded in death by her parents and five siblings: Ruth McDaniel, Arthur Greene Jr., Ocie Malone, Ed Greene and Jack Greene; three husbands, Marvin Manly, Fred Stooksbury and Otto Foster; son, Ray Manly; granddaughter, Donna Garrett Breeden; and son-in-law, Eugene Garrett. She is survived by her son, Don (Mary Beth) Manly of Florida, Anne (Bobby) Phillips, Jean Garrett, all of Jefferson City; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Manley of New Market; seven grandchildren, Karen Phillips (Stephen) Lee, Paul Manley, Brad (Rhonda) Phillips, Mark (Allison) Garrett, Mark (Carol Robert and her children, Jessica and Rachel) Manly, Kimberly (Matt) Gardiner, Pam (Chuck) Wilson; grandson-in-law, Richard Breeden; fourteen great-grandchildren, Brittany (Warren) Walker, Tyler (Allie) Coffey, Chesney Coffey, Joe Phillips, Garrett Breeden, Mallory Breeden, Tatum Garrett, Aubrey Garrett, Luke Garrett, Jade Wilson, Quinn, Michael and James Gardiner; and three great-great-grandsons, Sean and Jacob Walker, Kellen Coffey; sisters-in-law, Naomi Greene and Louise McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews. Throughout her life she has experienced so much history of our nation and it is a pleasure to sit and talk with her about these events and growing up during these years. One of her proud accomplishments was her career at the original Jefferson Memorial Hospital in the dietary department for 20 plus years. Music and dancing were among her favorite things in life and would still get up and dance when she has the opportunity. Most sunny days you would find her sitting outside and enjoying God’s creation. When asked, “How are you?” she replies, “I’m doing the best I can.” And this is truly where her strength and faith in God was displayed. Special thanks to the management and staff at Signature Lifestyles of Jefferson City and Amedysis Home Health Care. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2021.
