SC passed away on Monday, August 20, 2007. She was born in Kingsport, TN and spent the majority of her life in East Tennessee. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and daughter who was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles Iris Compton and Myrtle Franklin Compton of Morristown, TN. She is survived by husband, Lennis Ray Woods of Goose Creek, SC; daughter, Ginny Lacy of Charleston, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Martha Compton of Plano, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Bill McConnell of Knoxville, TN; sister, Sharon Kay Compton of Knoxville, TN and Zambia, Africa; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
