Evalena Vick Henry

EVALENA (VICK) HENRY, age 85 of Strawberry Plains, TN passed away at her home on Thursday evening, June 1, 2023.  She was born on June 19, 1937 to the late Eli Jackson Vick and Sissie Mary Adeline (Golden) Vick.  Evalena was an employee of Detroit Gasket Manufacturing after 30 plus years of service.  Evalena was a loving lady, wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.  She loved serving the lord and was a true prayer warrior where she was a faithful member of the Strawberry Plains First Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 28 years, John Burnett Henry; her parents; brothers, Roy Vick and Rubel Leon Vick.  Evalena is survived by her daughter, Betty Carol “Henry” (Monte Ray) Gregg; granddaughter, Sarah Gregg; grandson, John “Ben” Gregg; great-granddaughters, Arianna Lowery and Amelia Lane; special nephew, Harold “Shorty” (Linda) Vick; and her special friend, Carolyn Hayes.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 4, 2023, 4:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brock Webster officiating.  Family and friends will gather on Monday, June 5, 2023, 11:00am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens for the graveside interment service.
