Member of Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher and Elder. She was retired from Magnavox Company, Philips Consumer Electronics and Carson-Newman College. She was preceded in death by parents, J. H. and Genevieve Underwood Burchfiel; brothers, Cecil, J. L., Curtis and Paul Burchfiel; sisters, Mary Ruth Burchfiel Smith and Helen Burchfiel. Survivers include sister and brother-in-law, Lura Burchfiel Hinchey and James Hinchey; brother and sister-in-law Fred and Clarice Burchfiel; sisters-in-law Mabelle Burchfiel of Morristown and Yvonne Burchfiel of Gainesville, GA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, August 11 at Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Richard Snowden officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at Farrar Funeral Home and proceed to Sunderland Cemetery in Talbott for an 11:00 graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening prior to the funeral service at the church.
