Earnest Ray Kear, age 94, of Dandridge, TN passed away 5:45am Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his two precious daughters. He was a member of Buffalo Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II, under General Patton 3rd Armor Tank Division. He retired from Smalley Manufacturing Company after 35 years of service. Preceded by his loving wife, Betty Kear; parents, Ora and Maggie Kear; brother, Harold Kear; sister, Geneva Scates. Survived by his daughters, Pat Plemens of Dandridge and Judy (Bob) French of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Jeff, Kim, Shane, and Tami; great- grandchildren, Eric, Maggie, Raylee, Ashlynn, Emily, Madison, Tyler, Nate, Nick, Daisy and Abby; great-great grandchildren, Peyten, Cate, Hazely, Brennon, and Ryder; brother, Ralph Kear of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews. He will lie in state Monday, July 19, 2021 10:00am-1:30pm at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City and will proceed to Buffalo Grove Cemetery for a 2:00pm graveside service with Rev. John Pinkston and Rev. Chad Chambers officiating. Military honors by VFW Post #5266.
