Emily Cate Blake

Emily Cate Blake, age 54 of New market (Dumplin Community) passed away Friday, August 2, 2002 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville following a brief illness. She was a member of the Dumplin Baptist Church and was a retired secretary for the College of Education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her father, Burl Cate; Survived by Husband, Harold D. Blake; son, Stephen Blake; daughter, Kari Blake; grandson, Austin Blake; mother, Agnes Koontz Cate; sisters, Berlyn Faye Cate, Mrs. Don (Dianne) Gass, and Mrs. Stan(Sandra) Massengill; nephew, Adam Gass and niece, Michelle Cate, all of New Market. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 4, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Rev. Kyle Cate officiating. Interment graveside services will be held Monday, August 5, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Cate Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, August 4 at the funeral home.
