Elsie Elizabeth Winstead

ELSIE ELIZABETH WINSTEAD, age 88, of Greenwood, SC and formerly of Strawberry Plains, TN passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Hospice House following an extended illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Winstead and brother, Joe C. Bailey. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends and she left a godly legacy for all her family. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Riffey of Greenwood, SC; granddaughters, Kristi Owen of Greenwood, SC and Kimberly Ray of Travelers Rest, SC, Gabby Moore of Knoxville, TN; six great-grandchildren; sister, Nina Bea Long of Knoxville, TN; brother, Clint Bailey of Dandridge, TN; several nieces and nephews; half-sisters, Susan Moore of Knoxville, TN, Terry Bailey of Knoxville, TN, Jeanette Rogers of Knoxville, TN, Deborah Corona of Charleston, SC; half-brothers, Frank Barton of Dandridge, TN, Riley Barton of Jefferson City, TN, Ernest Barton of Canton, OH, Douglas Barton of Dandridge, TN; sister-in-law, Blanche Winstead of Hampton, SC; special cousins, Alice Sherrod of Johnson City, TN and Myrtle Simpson of Asheville, NC. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Rev. Sam Grindstaff officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Strawberry Plains Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, Inc., 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
