OBITUARY:
ELLA BAYLESS RICKARD, age 93, of Strawberry Plains, TN, a long time resident of Jefferson County, passed away April 16, 2008. She lived her life as a Christian and was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Jefferson County Rescue Squad Crewettes in the early days of which her husband, Homer served as the first Jefferson County Rescue Squad Captain. She and her husband were the former owners and operators of Rickard Strawberry Farms. Preceded in death by husband, Homer Rickard; granddaughter, Vickie Gail Moore; son-in-law, Victor Moore; parents, Charles Bayless and Ida Collette Bayless; sisters, Essie Long, Frances Brabston, Bertha Bayless, Anna Bayless and Geneva Bacon; brothers, James Bayless and Ralph Bayless; brother-in-law, James Rickard; special niece, Ada Jo Bacon. She is survived by her daughter, M. Louise Moore of Sevierville; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Gerald and Brenda Moore of Whitesburg, Ronald and Cindy Moore of Corryton; great-grandson, Dillon Jared Moore of Corryton; sister-in-law, Helen Woods of Morristown and Hazel Kanipe of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 from the Farrar Dandridge Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside interment service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Hillcrest Cemetery.
