Edward Ray Watson

EDWARD RAY WATSON, age 92, of Sevierville, TN passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the Sevier County Health Care Center. He was born November 23, 1916 in Sevier County, the son of the late Reverend Edward Watson and Lilly Owenby Watson. He was a graduate of Carson-Newman College and served in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War II. A faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Sevierville, he was a retired bookkeeper for TVA. Preceded in death by sisters, Jennie Waterson and Grace Walters; brothers, Fred and Bill Watson. Survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Mary Elizabeth Coile Watson and a host of relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to "Friends of the Smokies", P. O. Box 1660, Kodak, TN, 37764-7660. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Rev. David Goode and Rev. Scott Carter officiating. Interment to follow in the Buffalo Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
