EDWARD DEWITT HORNER, age 85, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on April 30, 2009 at his home with his loved ones. He attended Mansfield Gap Baptist Church while in good health, was employed by New Jersey Zinc Mines for over 27 years, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army. Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Hannah Horner; brothers, Dewey, Roy, Jr., James, Stanley, Mack, J. W.; sister, Ann Mills. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Imojean Collier Horner; daughters, Kathi (Larry) Cope, Pam (Duane) Justis and Beverly (Glenn) Lichlyter; grandchildren, Joe (Brenda) Horner, Brittney Justis, Dennie Justis, Dillon Lichlyter, Jessica (Davy) Albright; great-grandchildren, Jacob Collins, Blakely Justis and Isabella Lichlyter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Stuart Bennet of Georgia, Rosa and Robert Kinder of Jefferson City, Maggie Gilliam of Jefferson City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Rose Marie Horner of Morristown, Haskell and Mary Horner of Louisville, KY; special cousin, Otis Bearden (O.B.) and wife, Dorothy Horner of Ambouy, Illinois; several niece, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Rev. William Bradley, Rev. Avery Turley and Rev. Danny Matthews officiating. Graveside interment service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens will military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
