EDWARD (EDDIE) COOPER, (also known as Daddy Rabbit or Sweet Eddie), age 77 of Halls Crossroads, TN passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He loved fishing, wildlife, and Tennessee football. He was a friend to all and loved everyone he met. He gave his life to the Lord in 1972 and became a powerful minister, creating a great impact on many lives. He might have referred to you as “that one there” or “that’s a good one” because he could not remember your name. We may not have understood everything he said, but he definitely did. Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Howard Cooper; mother, Hazel Haynes Cooper; brothers, Howard and Elmer Cooper. Survived by his wife, Opal Bishop Cooper; daughter, Lisa (Tony) Vermillion; sons, Eddie “Buster” Cooper and David (Michelle) Cooper; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nine-brothers and sisters, and many extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 7:30, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Redemption Harvest Church; 7824 Old Maynardville Pike, Knoxville, TN with Rev. Jody Darden officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45, Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 2:00 graveside interment service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons Bible Ministry or Alzheimer’s Organization.
