Edith C. Smith

Edith C. Smith, age 88 of Dandridge, Tennessee (formerly of Lexington, Virginia) passed away peacefully on the morning of January 4, 2025 with her daughter at her side. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, a true friend, and a special lady.

Born December 18, 1936, Edith was among sixteen children born to William Downey Cash & Mary Ellen Slater Cash. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as all of her siblings, and her son, Kenneth W. Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Moore and son-in-law, Frederick Wayne Moore; sister-in-law, Helen Cash; granddaughter, Kiara Smith; great-grandson, Easton Rubinstein; and daughter-in-law, Johnna Smith; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In accordance with her wishes, Edith was cremated with a Celebration of Life for Virginia family and friends to take place at a later date, In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the animal rescue charity of your choice.
