Edith Pauline Mills

EDITH PAULINE MILLS, age 85, of Knoxville, TN and formerly of Jefferson County, TN passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008. She was a member of Buffalo Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her faith and family were the most important things in her life. She will be remembered for her strong faith in God, her compassion and love for others, and her love of the Great Smoky Mountains and nature. Preceded in death by husband, James Arthur Mills; son, Edward Joseph Mills; parents, Walter and Janie (Ailey) Large; sisters, Gladys Ingram and Mary Leona Large. Survived by daughter, Joyce Carolyn Mills; grandchildren, Lynnette Mills, Tara (Mike) Taylor, and Cayla (Lucas) Corum; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Addison and Maggie, all of Knoxville; sister, Wilma Howerton of Morristown; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. James B. Rivers, Jr. and his staff. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, December 10, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
