EDITH LEEPER DRINNON, age 96, of Dandridge, TN passed away Thursday morning, September 22, 2011 at the Chandler House Assisted Living Center. She was born Ocober 13, 1914 in White Pine, TN, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Cremora Zirkle Leeper, Sr. Edith, along with her husband, Herman were the long-time owners and operators of the Leeper's General Store located in the Oak Grove Community that was founded by her father. She was the oldest living member of the French Broad Baptist Church, a church she truly loved and served faithfully in many ways. She was a member and past president of the WMU council and the WMU of French Broad Baptist Church, the Dandridge Garden Club, and was an active citizen of the Oak Grove Community. Preceded in death by her husband, Herman Drinnon; brothers, R. J. (Mary) Leeper, Jr., and Glen Leeper; sister, Aileen Walker. She is survived by special nieces, Lisa (Greg) Williams and Elizabeth (Junior) Watkins; nephews, Terry N. Leeper, John Drinnon, Gary Drinnon, Donald Trent and John Walker; great-nephews, Brian (Ashley) Williams and their son Maddox, and Eric (Sarah) Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the French Broad Baptist Cemetrey Fund, PO Box 1577, Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the French Broad Baptist Church with Rev. J. Don Mitchell and Rev. John Mitchell officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the interment graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
