EARNEST C. STAMPER, SR., age 87, of Dandridge, TN and formerly of Logan, WV passed away at 11:08 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Physicians Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was retired from Island Creek Coal Company with 34 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Survived by his loving wife, Deloris Stamper of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Earnest, Jr. and Sarah Stamper of Dandridge; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Michael Hendricks of Dandridge, Drema and Mark Dollison of Logan, WV; grandchildren, Claressa Courtney, Evan Stamper, Chelsea Hendrick, Kaley and Tiffany Hendrick and Angel Welch; great-grandchildren, Athena Welch, Jaxson and Isabelle Courtney; brother, Troy Stamper of Huntington, WV. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Caldwell officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 12:45 p.m. Friday at Westview Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside interment service.
