Earlene H. Silcox

EARLENE H. SILCOX of Talbott, TN, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. She was retired after twenty-five years of service from Carson-Newman College. She was hired at Carson Newman College as one of the first female security guards to stay in the girls dormitory. Preceded in death by her husband, Estle Silcox, Sr.; father and mother, Off and Bertha Mullins; father and mother-in-law, Jacob and Pearl Silcox; brothers, Roy Mullins; Marcum Harness; Laford Harness; Ken Harness; Carl Harness; Leamon Harness; and sisters, Rosa Masengill; Betty Masengill. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Estle (Jr.) and Linda Silcox, of Jefferson City; Donny and Karen Silcox of Rogersville; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jerry Walker of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Jenny Silcox, Joe Allen, Daniel Silcox; Joey Silcox and wife, Sandra; Brittany Bruner and husband, Sam; Lacey Martin and husband, Dustin; and Abby Walker; step-grandchildren, David Swanson and Mindy Krass; great-grandchildren, Payton Silcox; Brayden Morgan and Cylar Martin; Charlotte and Sarah Silcox; and Taylor Bruner; step-great-grandchildren, Noah and Zackary Swanson; Aidan, Elliott and Rowan Krass; sisters-in-law, Sally Harness; Stella Silcox and Brenda Cox of Caryville, Imogene Vitatoe of Jacksboro, and Lois Ayers of Jacksboro; brothers-in-law, Henry Silcox of Maryville; Boyce Silcox of Jacksboro; Ricky Silcox of Caryville; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Farrar Funeral Home with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
