In loving memory of Dwight David Sanders, age 68, formerly of Majestic, KY. Dwight departed this life for his Heavenly home on March 17, 2024.

Dwight (Ike) was born on October 16, 1955 to the late Mary Blankenship Sanders and James E. Sanders. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother James Boyd (J.B.) Sanders and William Corby Sanders and his wife Jacqueline "Carlene" Sanders.

Dwight is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda Kay Sanders and son, Eric Thomas Sanders; sisters in law Sharon Sanders, Lisa (Louis) Fields; brother in law Terry Chapman; cousins Robin (Bill) Richardson and Eddie (Alice) Ferrell.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

Dwight was honorably discharged after spending 4 years in the Marines (1976-1980). He then worked 3 years as an electrician in the coal mines.  Dwight then moved to Lexington, KY and later Georgetown, KY. He attended Eastern Kentucky University until he was hired at the TMMK Plant in 1987. Badge #173. He was there to calibrate the first Toyota Camry. Dwight considered it a privilege to work for Toyota, serving as an Assistant Manager, focusing on Maintenance Management. He retired in 2016 and eventually settled in TN, where he loved to sit on the porch with his coffee while admiring the Smoky Mountains. He and Linda enjoyed traveling and visited many national parks and loved going on cruises. 

Dwight's passion was coaching youth sports. He and his son won many championships and made memories and friends for life.

Dwight dearly loved his family and friends will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  His memory will never die as long as we keep him in our hearts. 

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Don Creacy officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Hills Union Cemetery with Rev. Richard Dotson officiating. Military honors will be given by VFW # 5266 and the Marine Corps.
