Douglas Leon Byrd

DOUGLAS LEON BYRD, age 65, of Rutledge, TN, born September 15, 1952, passed from this life to his heavenly home at approximately 7:00 p.m. on May 20, 2018. Doug was saved at an early age at Highland Springs Church and was a member there for many years. He loved farming and enjoyed working and managing Dr. Clifford Johnson's farm for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Hattie Byrd, Alfred and Katie Wright; sister, Minerva Byrd Dalton; in-laws, Gary and Carolyn Cameron; sister-in-law, Starla Cameron. He is survived by his loving wife, Selena; daughter, Sierra; one step-son, Nathan Munsey and a lovely step-granddaughter, Rayghan Munsey; parents, Rev. Lester and Pauline Byrd; sister, Judy Ramsey (Eddie), Tink Byrd (Juanita), Ronnie Byrd (Marie), Mike Byrd (Camilla); and several nieces and nephews; and one special nephew, Jeremy Byrd. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at the Old Mitchell Springs Cemetery on the Johnson Farm for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
