Dorothy Barbee Noonkesser

DOROTHY BARBEE NOONKESSER, age 82, of Dandridge, TN passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 17, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville following a brief illness. She was born and raised in Dandridge, TN, the daughter of the late Carl and Annie Zirkle Barbee and was a life-long resident of Jefferson County. A beloved mother and grandmother, she enjoyed sewing and crafts and volunteered many hours at the Jefferson County Nursing Home. Preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Barbee; and brothers, Harry and Paul Barbee. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Noonkesser; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sharon Noonkesser; grandchildren, Myra Whittaker and Barry Noonkesser; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Roach, Carol Pangerc, Lois Koppe and Barbara LaCosta; brothers, Willard, Ben, George, Gerald and French Barbee; special friend, Dorothy Hackney. The family would like to acknowledge and say thank you to the staff of Jefferson County Nursing Home for their sincere and passionate care. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Farrar Funeral Home Dandridge Chapel with Reverend Sam Hall officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning at Hillcrest Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
