Dorothy Loraine MacMorran

Dorothy “Dottie” Loraine Lynn MacMorran –earned her Heavenly wings on July 15, 2023 in Dandridge, Tennessee due to complications from an emergency colectomy surgery.    Dottie was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 3, 1947 and grew up in Rockville, Maryland where she attended Richard Montgomery High School.  She earned her Certified Medical Assistant Associate Degree and enjoyed multiple careers that engaged her with others. She spent many years as a Seminal County Florida school bus driver so she could dedicate her summers to her children.  Later Dottie became Property Manager for several companies.  In her seventies she couldn’t imagine life away from people and so she continued to work in hospitality for La Quinta Inn in Pigeon Forge, where her customers were treated like family and friends. 

Her favorite past time was spending time with family.  Family meant everything to her, Dottie was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She never met a stranger and was never short for words.    

Dottie is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Stephen Lynn. Dottie is survived by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” MacMorran, three children: Marsha Daubert, Mark Lusk, Chontelle Chastain: 5 grandchildren: Olivia, Peyton, Jim, Holly and Scott: 2 great grandchildren: Wrenley, Caiden along with brother, David Lynn, sister, Donna Bors; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Dorothy MacMorran is being cremated and in leu of flowers please send donations to your local Humane Society.  She was a BIG animal lover and would appreciate it.  A celebration of life will be held for close family members.
