Dorothy Louise Miller

Dorothy “Louise” Miller, age 88, of Jefferson City, TN went to her heavenly home on January 27, 2022.  She was the oldest member of Mt. Vale Church of God. She taught Children’s Church for many years.  Louise had an extended illness, but was able to remain at home, cared for by her daughters, Sissie Massengill and Karen Williams; granddaughter, Dusty Chaudoin; and dear cousin, Edith Lawless. Preceded in death by her husband, James Miller; parents, Robert and Aline Lawless; grandson, Tony Massengill; and daughter-in-law, Shirley Massengill.  She is survived by sons, Robbie Massengill of Talbott, TN, Larry and Kim Massengill of New Haven, KY; daughters, Doris “Sissie” Massengill of Jefferson City, TN, Karen and Eddie Williams of Morristown, TN; five grandchildren, Jamie Collier, Lisa Gardner, Larry Massengill, Robert and Trish Massengill, Dusty Chaudoin; six great-grandchildren, Alyson Collier, Caitlin Shepherd, Mackenzie Massengill, Jay, Isaac and Cooper Massengill; three great-great-grandchildren, Zayden Walker, Myla and Ryder Shepherd; special cousins who seemed like her siblings, Earl Chandler of Ludlow, KY and Dorothy Gibbons of Louisville, KY. A “special thanks” to a family of wonderful friends who loved her dearly. Also a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their loving care, also to Amedisys who took care of her for many years. Funeral service will be held at Mt. Vale Church of God on Monday, January 31, 2022 with Rev. T. H. Ferrell, and Care Pastors Henry and Tina McKinney officiating. Graveside interment service will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p. m. prior to the service. Due to Covid, Farrar Funeral Home strongly encourages all CDC guidelines be followed, including the use of face masks.
