Dorothy Hartley

DOROTHY HARTLEY, age 80, of Jefferson City, TN passed away May 22, 2013. She was originally from Hancock County, and at an early age professed her faith at the Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a longtime active member and missionary secretary of Morristown Bible Methodist Church. She was a very loving and caring person who loved her family dearly. She always wanted to help others. She traveled with her husband in the military for 21 years, then retiring in Jefferson City. She was active with her business until her illness in January of 2013. Her most important goal in life was helping her church. Preceded in death by husband, Clyde J. Hartley; son, Joseph Hartley; granddaughter, Joann Hartley; parents, Theodore and Carrie Mabe Trent. She is survived by granddaughter, Ruth Ann Sexton and husband, Dale; great-granddaughter, Alesha Sexton; sisters, Linda Burke and husband Jerry of Morristown, Barbara Balent and husband John of Florida, many nieces and nephews; special niece, Carrie Balent. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Farrar Funeral home with Rev. Joe Sifford officiating. Graveside interment service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
