Dorothy Grace McMurray “Grace” Manley was born August 6, 1939, in Grainger County, Tennessee to James and Martha McMurray. Grace departed this life on November 11, 2020. Her childhood family left east Tennessee when TVA development flooded their farm and moved to Bell Buckle where Grace was raised. The family returned to Jefferson County when Grace was in grade school. Grace attended Jefferson City High School, starring on the basketball team. Soon after graduation Grace married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Kenneth Manley. The couple lived the entire 52 years of their marriage working side-by-side on the family farm started by Kenneth’s grandfather, until they were parted by Kenneth’s passing in 2010. Grace was a faithful servant of the community and a dedicated member of Wooten’s Chapel, later New Market United Methodist Church. She is predeceased by her parents and husband, brother James McMurray, sisters Imogene Seahorn and Betty Roudebush. She is survived by sons Stephen Kenneth Manley (Robin), and James Todd Manley, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the caring staff at Holston Health and Rehabilitation Center. A private service and interment will be held at Westview Cemetery in Jefferson City, Tennessee, on November 27, 2020.
