Broadway Blvd. Jefferson City, TN 37760 Phone (865) 475-3892 Fax (865) 475-9916 OBITUARY: DOROTHY MARIE BATEMAN PHILLIPS, age 64, of Sacramento, CA, born June 3, 1940 in Jefferson City, TN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2005 in Sacramento, CA after a long illness, with most of her family by her side. Dorothy was a long time resident of Brooksville, FL, where she worked over 20 years as a computer programmer for Hernando County, medically retiring last year. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Frances (Frankie) Bateman. Survived by her children, Tanya Phillips and Ken ?Del? Phillips of El Dorado, CA; daughter-in-law, Kim Phillips; grandchildren, whom she loved so much, Ben, Kristen, Bryan and Kelli Phillips of El Dorado Hills, CA; sister, Sharon Bateman of Orlando, FL; brother, Bobbie Bateman of Jefferson City, TN; half-brothers, Terry and David Bateman of Knoxville; half-sister, Susan McGee of Knoxville; ex-husband, Delmar Phillips of El Dorado Hills, CA. Dorothy also leaves behind many friends and other family members in the Brooksville area and in Tennessee. Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings in the church, including teaching seminary class for the youth in the Morristown, TN ward. She loved that calling more than any as she loved being involved with the youth of the church. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all that knew her. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p. m. on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Bishop Clint Hurley officiating.Graveside interment service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2005 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in remembrance of Dorothy?s life from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2005 prior to the service at the funeral home.
