Doris Marie Spoone, age 81 of Dandridge, TN entered into her eternal home on Thursday, November 17, 2016, with her loving family by her side. She loved her church and was a faithful member of Deep Springs Baptist Church and looked forward to attending church every time the doors were open. She loved children and was in charge of the nursery at church until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She will always be remembered as Mamaw Doris by everyone who was in her classes. Doris was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, which were her pride and joy. She was always the ray of sunshine at all of our family gatherings!
Doris was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jake and Rozella Miller, infant grandson, Richard Brown, and brother-in-law, David Roger Ward.
She leaves behind her daughter, Janice (Jerry) Slagle, son, Bill (Frances) Spoone; grandchildren, AJ (Leah) Spoone, all of Dandridge and Kim (Joey) Dills of Englewood, TN; sisters, Dramah (Ralph) Elder of Dandridge and Judy Ward of Seymour. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who loved their Aunt Doris with all their hearts. She will certainly be missed by everyone who knew her.
